Earlier today, a post over at On The Banks, a Rutgers blog, made it sound like there was going to be a mass exodus of coaches from the Rutgers football team, just days after all of the 2012 recruits signed their letters of intent:
According to an inside source, [Former Pitt coach Brian] Angelichio, Fraser, [Former Pitt Coach Jeff] Hafley and [Former Pitt Coach Frank] Cignetti (as well as Jay Butler) will be joining Schiano in Tampa Bay. Now, as a caveat, I'm not a beat reporter with a big circle of sources. But, I trust this one source a lot.
As BKObserver claimed, I am not a beat reporter either, but from the sound of things from my connections to the former coaching staff (Wanny's staff, not the multiple other staff's Pitt has had in the last 14 months), I can say with great confidence that this is indeed happening.
As a Pitt fan, this is great news. Hafley was an ace recruiter, particularly in his home state of New Jersey. This will open big doors to reestablishing recruiting ties to the Garden State for players like Ray Graham, K'Waun Williams, and T.J. Clemmings.
