UPMC (Aaron Gray) vs. PGT (Gary McGhee). I can't wait to see how Gary looks against an NBA center. After his enormous strides from "bumbling backup" to "legit Big East center," I'm hoping he is able to take his game to another level this summer.
- The Dante Taylor Saga, Episode 2. How has Dante progressed? Has he gotten stronger? Better on defense? Can he play power forward in addition to center?
- It will be nice to see all the freshman (particularly JJ Moore after all the hype) and also last year's redshirts, who seem to get forgotten about. I know as much as the next Pitt fan, but I'm sure Lamar Patterson and Talib Zanna were recruited for a reason.
- WTF Hoopies? No West Virginia players are on the rosters after the Post-Gazette reported that Flowers and Mazzula, at a minimum, would be participating. Not sure what happened there.
- Apparently Dwight Miller is still around, despite the fact that he will be without a scholarship in the fall. Think he'll have a chip on his shoulder? Plus, you'd have to imagine that the Miller/Moore dynamic should be a rather awkward situation. In all seriousness, I hope Dwight gets in with a new school soon and is able to showcase his abilities.
- In case you've forgot, Aron Nwanko is a walk-on who has earned a full academic scholarship to Pitt who plans to major in Pre-Med. He's also one hell of an athlete who won the state championship in lacrosse and received offers to play D-1 hoops. A very nice addition.
