As was long rumored, 93.7 The Fan will be the new home of Pitt football and basketball, according to the Post-Gazette's Bob Smizek. A great win for Pitt, who will now have a home on the preeminent Pittsburgh sports talk station, which will likely lead to greater promotion on air on an easy to find, identifiable station (I hated switching from 94.5 to 970AM on the drive home from basketball games). 94.5 is fine, but The Fan will likely have more comprehensive pre- and post-game coverage, not to mention plugs all week long.
In terms of the actual coverage of the games, there doesn't appear to any shake-ups. Bill Hillgrove will still be the voice of the Panthers. No confirmation on whether or not his sidekicks will join him in the booth, but I think it's a safe assumption that Curtis Aiken will be the color commentator at the Pete, as it seemed like Grout was being phased out.
